SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ADVERTISEMENT :Network & Its Types

NETWORK AND ITS TYPES:
A computer is a telecommunication network which allows computers or other communication devices to share data, Devices exchange data by using data link. Its Types as follows:
Local Area Network (LAN): Under this a group of computers and network devices connected together, usually within the same building.
Wi-Fi is a technology that allows electronics devices to connect to a Wireless LAN ( WLAN)network, mainly using the 2.4 gigahertz (12 cm)
UHF and 5 gigahertz (6 cm) SHF ISM radio bands.
A WLAN is usually password protected, but may be open, which allows any device within its ranges to access the resources of the WLAN network.
Light Fidelity or Li-Fi is a Visible ight Communications (VLC) system running wireless communications similar to WiFiand travelling at very high speeds. Li-Fi uses common household LED (light emitting diodes) light bulbs to enable data transfer, boasting speeds of up to 224 gigabit per second.
WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a family of wireless communications standards initially designed to provide 30 to 40 megabit-per-second data rates, with the 2011 update providing up to 1 Gbit/s for fixed stations.
Near-field communication (NFC) is a set of communication protocols that enable two electronic devices, one of which is usually a portable device
Such as a smartphone, to establish communication by bringing them within about 5 cm (2 in) of each other.
Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) – It is a larger network that usually connects several buildings in the same city or town.
Wide Area Network (WAN) – It extends over a large geographical distance. Wide area networks are
often established with leased telecommunication circuits. Devices are connected through networks and this can be done by the uses the networking devices.
EXamples ofnetworking devices are Router, Modem Hub, Gateway, Bridge, Repeater, etc.
Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) was the publicly used version of the Internet Protocol. IPv4 was developed as a research project by the Defense
Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), a United States Department of Defense Ageney, before becoming the foundation for the internet and world wide web.

Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) is the most recent version of the Internet Protocol (IP), the communications protocol that provides an identification and location system for computers on networks and routes traffic across the Internet.
IPv6 was developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to deal with the long-anticipated problem of IPv4 address exhaustion. IPv6 is intended to replace IPv4.
