Jaldapara Sanctuary is about 124 kilometers from Siliguri. Rhinoceros with unusual horns, buffalo, leopard, spotted deer, sambar, boar deer, reptiles, large wild boars, wild boars and a variety of rare animals and birds including lots of peacocks. Gorumara National Park is about 75 km from Siliguri, in the Chapramari forests about 80 km from Siliguri. The Buxa Tiger Reserve is about 200 kilometers from Siliguri and was declared a National Park in January 1992. The name is derived from Buxa Fort – a 850-meter high castle on the Sinchula Range.
